Many Women Treated for Breast Cancer Report Severe Side Effects, Study Indicates

TIME (1/24, Park) reports that in a study published in Cancer, investigators found that “42% of women who were treated for breast cancer reported severe side effects.”

HealthDay (1/24, Preidt) reports that the researchers found that “pain, skin irritation and constipation were the side effects most often reported as severe or very severe.” Individuals “who had both chemotherapy and radiation treatment were 30 percent more likely to report a severe side effect than those who had only one of those treatments.”
