Mammography Screening May Detect More Cases Of High-Grade DCIS As Women Age

Aunt Minnie (10/27, Yee) reports, “Mammography screening detects more cases of high-grade ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) as women age,” according to a study including “733,905 women between the ages of 50 and 69.” The findings, published online Oct. 27 in Radiology, “suggest that more research is needed on the effectiveness of standard DCIS treatment in women older than 60.”
