New ACS Mammogram Guidelines May Face Resistance Within The Medical Community

Meanwhile, HealthDay (10/22, Thompson) reports that the “guidelines are likely to face some resistance within the medical community, based on early reaction.” Both the “the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging also are standing firm against the new guidelines.” The groups issued a joint statement “saying they will continue to recommend that women get yearly mammograms starting at age 40.”
