TIME (3/7, Sifferlin) reports that research published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology “suggests that for certain women, double mastectomies – which are an increasingly popular choice for women with breast cancer – may not deliver the outcome some women expect.” Investigators studied approximately 4,000 women who underwent surgery for breast cancer.
