Mission

The mission of the R&E Fund is to support the research and education of breast imaging professionals. SBI wishes to offer travel grants to residents and fellows who have been selected to present their original scientific work at the SBI Breast Imaging Symposium. The travel stipend will give them the opportunity to attend the entire conference to enhance their knowledge while networking with their peers and leaders in the field of breast imaging. Your generous donations will ensure these deserving young professionals—the future of the society—have the access, support, and resources they need to excel.

Award criteria: At the conclusion of the abstract review process, the Scientific Program Chair will select up to 10 residents and/or fellows for further consideration of the travel grant. Residents who are first authors on the abstract will be given priority. Oral and Electronic presentations will be considered for the travel grants.

Who We Fund

Dr. Bhavika Patel, MD, was selected to join as a new member of the Academy Council for Early Career Investigators in Imaging (CECI2). Dr. Patel was sponsored by the Society of Breast Imaging through contributions to the SBI Research & Education Fund.
