SBI Symposium Collection: Clinical Controversies

The Clinical Controversies Symposium Collection is designed to enhance a learner's competence in discussing benefits and possible harms of screening mammography as well as personalized screening approaches. Learners will also understand breast imaging challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic and the implementation of the 21st Century Cures Act. This collection features presentations from the 2022 SBI Symposium.

4. Patient-Centered Radiology: The 21st Century CURES Act

Speakers:

  • Mary Mahoney, MD, FSBI

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify abnormal nodes warranting biopsy, options for biopsy, marking and localizing nodes.
  • Describe COVID related factors leading to personnel distress in breast imaging.
  • Describe pros/cons of mammography screening as well as personalized screening
  • Describe changes to abnormal results communication as a result of the CURES Act.
