International Education Outreach

The purpose of the International Outreach Committee is to identify and partner with emerging breast imaging societies outside of the United States to cosponsor educational programs designed to improve knowledge and clinical care worldwide.

The goal is to collaboratively design an educational program with the host society and provide content experts in the field of breast imaging.

SBI/RAD-AID Collaboration

Breast Cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths for women globally. In low and middle-income countries (LMICs), where health system resources are limited, women are diagnosed with breast cancer at a later stage and are more likely to die of the disease1.

The Society of Breast Imaging is pleased to announce a collaboration with RAD-AID International to establish the RAD-AID/SBI Global Breast Radiology Program, which is a joint program to increase access to medical imaging services for breast imaging globally. This partnership creates unique and valuable volunteer opportunities for SBI’s 3000+ members within RAD-AID’s established global health programs, inclusive of various education offerings and web conferences within RAD-AID’s regional programs. Apply today for the RAD-AID/SBI Global Breast Radiology Program.

RAD-AID International is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity that aims to increase access to radiology and to essential health services in global health. The mission of RAD-AID Breast Imaging is to help improve breast cancer outcomes and survival in women living in low-resource regions of the world by promoting early diagnosis and screening of breast cancer, and to help strengthen the pathway from diagnosis to treatment by engaging multidisciplinary partners in surgery, gynecology, oncology, radiation oncology, pathology and nursing.

Radiology Across Borders

Radiology Across Borders (RAB) is a global charity which originated and is based in Australia which focuses on teaching key clinical skills to radiologists, doctors and medical imaging staff around the world to ensure health professionals have the knowledge and training to save their patients’ lives.

Their projects aim to drive sustainable change, assisting clinicians to become more competent in both fundamental and cutting-edge skills and to share their expanding knowledge with their peers locally. SBI provides breast imaging content for RAB's resource library to ensure that breast imagers world-wide have access to clinical resources.
