Professional Bio

Dr. Megan Kalambo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Breast Imaging at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (MDACC) and serves as the Clinical Medical Director of Breast Imaging for the Houston Area Locations (HALs). She earned her medical degree from the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine and completed her residency at The University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston, followed by a dedicated breast imaging fellowship at MD Anderson in 2012. She joined the faculty in 2013.


From 2014 to 2020, Dr. Kalambo served as a community-based academic radiologist through MD Anderson’s network expansion partnership with Memorial Hermann. In 2020, she was appointed Faculty Lead for the Houston Area Locations, and in 2021, she became the inaugural Clinical Medical Director of Breast Imaging for HALs. In this role, she leads clinical operations across three multidisciplinary breast centers and supports strategic initiatives tied to community expansion, access, and partnership engagement.


Dr. Kalambo’s professional interests center on optimizing cancer care delivery across academic and community settings. Her work focuses on systems-based leadership, the integration of data-driven decision-making in clinical operations, and the design of scalable models that support patient-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration. She is also deeply committed to faculty development and mentoring the next generation of clinical leaders.
