Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the different types of mastectomies and autologous and implant reconstructions options available.
- Review the locations of residual breast tissue in the most common mastectomy techniques.
- Describe the rate of recurrence in mastectomy with or without reconstruction and lumpectomy with radiation.
- Identify the appropriate type of diagnostic work-up in the setting of symptomatic women with mastectomies.
