Speaker's Bio: Dr. Georgia G. Spear is the Chief of Breast Imaging at Northwestern Medicine and a Professor of Radiology at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University. A recognized leader in breast imaging, she leads multiple research studies as principal investigator, with a strong focus on advancing early breast cancer detection and improving access to care. Dr. Spear is dedicated to shaping healthcare policy through her involvement in local, state, and national committees, including the ACR Screening Leaders Group and as the ACR representative to the NAPBC. Additionally, she represents Illinois on advocacy issues for the American College of Radiology. In 2019, Dr. Spear co-chaired the Chicago International Breast Course and has continued to impact the field through numerous scholarly publications and presentations. She is the co-author and co-editor of a forthcoming textbook on Automated Breast Ultrasound for Screening and Diagnosis, expected to be released in early 2026. Board-certified in radiology, Dr. Spear completed her residency and fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where she also served as Chief Resident. She earned her MD from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University.
