Join us September 29 at 8:00 pm EDT for SBI's Live Webinar: Managing Workload, Boundaries, and Burnout in Breast Imaging, jointly presented by SBI's Resident and Fellow Section (RFS) and Inclusion Diversity Equity Alliance (IDEA).
This live panel will focus on the practical side of sustaining a career in breast imaging, including the systems-level pressures and individual choices that shape whether a career feels manageable. Topics will include time management, setting boundaries around availability and after-hours work, recognizing burnout in yourself and colleagues, and identifying which workplace factors are within your control versus those that require institutional change.
Panelists will share strategies they have used at different career stages and in different practice settings. We will also address how bias and microaggressions can amplify stress for radiologists from underrepresented groups, an area where SBI IDEA has expertise. Attendees can submit anonymous questions for live Q&A during the webinar. This session will not offer CME.

Priscilla J. Slanetz, MD, MPH, FSBI is a breast imaging radiologist at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA and at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. She currently serves as Treasurer and Board Member of the Society of Breast Imaging, Chair of the Commission on Publications and Lifelong Learning (CoPLL) for the American College of Radiology, Member of the Board of Chancellors of the American College of Radiology, and Editor-in-Chief of Academic Radiology. She has been the recipient of multiple national awards, including Alliance of Clinician Educators in Radiology Achievement Award, the Association of Program Directors in Radiology Achievement Award, the Radiological Society of North American Honored Educator Award, the Association of Women in Radiology Marie Sklodowska-Curie Award, the Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award, the ACR RAN Advocate of the Year Award, and the Massachusetts Medical Society Women’s Health Research Award. She is passionate about clinical research, medical education, advocacy, and physician wellness.
Toma Omofoye, MD, FSBI completed her medical degree and diagnostic radiology residency at Duke University, followed by fellowship training at MD Anderson, where she later joined the faculty. Her focus on capacity building includes collaborations with the IAEA, WHO, and PAHO to reduce breast cancer disparities in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. A longtime Society of Breast Imaging member, she previously served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Breast Imaging and Chair of the Social Media Committee.
Sophia Mirkin, DO is a first-year diagnostic radiology resident at Mayo Clinic Florida. She serves as a member of the SBI Resident and Fellow Section Committee for the 2026-2027 term.
Sara Stewart, MD is a second-year diagnostic radiology resident at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, IL. She currently serves as a member of the SBI Resident and Fellow Section Committee.
Erika Wood, MD is a fourth-year diagnostic radiology resident at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She will be attending UCLA for her Breast Imaging Fellowship in 2027. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the SBI Resident and Fellow Section Committee.
Anne Darrow, MD, MA is the SBI IDEA Chair for the 2025-2027 term. She is a breast radiologist, Assistant Program Director of the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program and Associate Chair of Outreach and Engagement for the Department of Radiology at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Darrow is passionate about health equity and advocacy and is the 2026-27 recipient of the 2026 Chancellor’s Fellowship for Inclusive Excellence at UC Davis.
Arthy Saravanan, MD is a breast imaging radiologist on the Radiology Partners SEAL team. She is also an assistant professor for the department of diagnostic medicine at Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas in Austin. Dr. Saravanan serves as Associate Chief Medical Officer of Recruitment and Strategic Clinical Initiatives for Radiology Partners. She also serves on the board of the American Association of Women in Radiology, as an Alternate Councilor on the Texas Radiological Society, as a reviewer for the Journal of Breast Imaging, and as a member of the SBI IDEA and the ACR Measurement & Assessment Subcommittee.
Lauren Snider, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology in the Breast Imaging Division at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She serves as the lead breast radiologist establishing a new multidisciplinary breast center at one of Vanderbilt’s largest acquired community hospitals. She currently serves on various SBI committees including as a member of IDEA and the Breast Imaging Screening Network Task Force, in addition to serving as a member on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Breast Cancer panel and abstract reviewer for the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS). Dr. Snider is passionate about clinical education, decreasing healthcare disparities via decentralization of healthcare, and physician wellness.
