Remote diagnostic breast imaging is increasingly common across private practice, community, and academic settings. It allows patients to receive high-quality subspecialized care and supports radiologists' work-life balance and reduces burnout. The purpose of this webinar is to describe the workflow of remote diagnostics and illustrate the strategies we have developed to manage technically challenging exams and unexpected findings without being in the room. Additionally, we will discuss methods to deliver results to patients when working remotely and share interesting cases we have encountered in a remote setting. We will share perspectives from both private practice and academic radiologists and look forward to the live Q&A!

Learning Objectives:
- Describe the operational components required to establish a successful remote diagnostic breast imaging program, including IT infrastructure, technologist requirements, and HIPAA-compliant communication.
- Discuss challenging cases (including technically difficult ultrasound exams and findings that may be discordant with mammography) and identify strategies for managing these scenarios without real-time scanning capability.
- Describe models of communication for delivering diagnostic results to patients when the radiologists work remotely.

Dr. Niketa Kataria is a breast imaging radiologist and Medical Director of Breast Imaging at Riverside Medical Center in Illinois. She completed her breast imaging fellowship at Northwestern University and her diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Washington Medical Center. Dr. Kataria has a strong interest in remote diagnostic breast imaging workflows and expanding access to high-quality subspecialty care in community and rural settings. She serves on the Society of Breast Imaging Education Committee and has authored peer-reviewed publications in breast imaging.
Dr. Juan D. Guerrero-Calderon is an Atlanta-based breast imaging radiologist and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Rochester, working in a hybrid position. He also serves as the Program Director for the Breast Radiology Fellowship Program at his institution. Dr. Guerrero-Calderon has a strong interest in advocacy and global health. He is the Director of RAD-AID Peru and serves as social media liaison for the Georgia Radiological Society and social media superuser for the ACR.
