SBI News Blog Submission Guidelines
SBI News welcomes submissions from members sharing insights, perspectives, and expertise relevant to the breast imaging community. Posts appear on the SBI News page and may be featured in member communications.
Content & Length
- Posts should range from 750–1,200 words. In the interest of readability, shorter is generally better — please do not exceed 1,200 words.
- Write for a lay audience that spans across the field. Avoid heavy jargon or overly technical language; clear, plain language is preferred. Where relevant, statistics and data are encouraged to support your points.
- Use subheadings to break up sections and improve readability.
- Where applicable, include hyperlinks to sources, referenced publications, or relevant SBI resources.
Formatting & Submission
- Submit your post as a Word document (.docx).
- Include a headshot (JPEG or PNG) and your preferred byline: full name, title, and affiliation.
- You may suggest an image to accompany your post, though final image selection is at SBI's discretion.
Editorial Process
- Authors are responsible for proofreading their submission for grammar, spelling, and accuracy before submitting. SBI staff will not perform copyediting.
- SBI reserves the right to make light edits for style, clarity, length, and consistency with SBI's voice and guidelines.
- You will have the opportunity to review and approve any edits before your post is published.
