SBI Symposium Collection - Breast MRI Series - Archived

The Breast MRI series is designed to enhance your breast imaging interpretation skills through a series of four SBI symposium Breast MRI focused presentations. This series is intended to enhance a learner’s competence regarding the optimization of breast MRI technical parameters, imaging modality identification and utilization, as well as abbreviated breast MRI implementation in order to improve patient outcomes and quality of care. This enduring activity format provides learners a convenient option to improve competence regarding breast MRI techniques and implementation at an appropriate time and location.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the enhancement patterns at breast MRI that are suspicious and require biopsy, compared to patterns that are related to artifacts, and will not persist once trouble shooting for technical issues are performed.
  • Recognize the role of features identified on breast MRI as imaging biomarkers in the setting of monitoring response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and allow for early identification of response or non-response to therapy, often before response may be assessed clinically by referring physicians.
  • Discuss the concept of abbreviated breast MRI exam and the steps to implement this technique.
