Certification exams can be challenging and require careful preparation. The new SBI Exam will be an asset to practicing breast imagers in their preparation. The exam, constructed by expert breast imagers at SBI, will allow users to assess knowledge of subspecialty content in a simulated format.

In order to participate in this project, users will review breast imaging guided biopsy procedures over a six-month period using CPT codes, PACS or RIS data to collect 25 breast biopsy cases. Data collected should include gauge of biopsy device, number of biopsy cores obtained, use of vacuum-assistance, physician performing the procedure, documented compliance with institution’s procedure policy and patient medication list for review of anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication. For patients with recorded hematomas, size of hematoma and any additional medical or surgical treatment required should be recorded.
This PQI project evaluates adherence to hand hygiene by the observation method. The observer will be educated on CDC and WHO hand hygiene guidelines and observe and record 200 opportunities for hand hygiene for a given healthcare provider.
