Article: MRI in the Setting of Neoadjuvant Treatment of Breast Cancer

Learning Objectives:

  1. Select the most appropriate treatment therapies for advanced breast cancer.
  2. Describe the best imaging modality to predict pathologic complete response and recurrence free survival post neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
  3. Identify the imaging modality that has the greatest pitfalls for predicting residual disease in patients with pathologic complete response.
  4. Recognize the sensitivity and specificity of MRI in patients with no residual invasive tumor on pathology following neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
